Pie Day

So apparently in some states in America there is something called a "Pie Day". If you are good with mathematics you will know that this day is on March 14th. Why? Because March 14th is the third month and fourteenth day = 3.14. And "Pi" = 3.14. There you have it.... Pie Day! Almost as silly as Peppero day in Korea (Nov 11th = 11/11) So they eat peppero's, which are long chocolate covered breadsticks. Why? because they are long and tall like the number 1 and because they felt they needed another day in November to celebrate. So Canada's Remembrance Day is also Korea's Peppero Day!

Anyway, Pie Day is a day to make pies. So, since our co-worker from Atlanta celebrates Pie Day in her state, we decided we would have ourselves a pie day. So all of us Foreign teachers baked pies.

Christine and I (mostly Christine on this one) made a blueberry and strawberry pie. Va'Shajn made a cherry pie with a special crust. Rachel made a key-lime pie. And Jonathan made cheesecake (close enough!).

So we pigged out a bit on pie that day. It was nice.

So now you know...in some states there is a special day on March 14th called "Pie Day"...or is it "Pi Day"...I don't know..but you bake pies anyway???
